The Communications department wanted to use full-page photographs in college advertising that displayed more of the college campus alongside the student models. Full page images tend to be very cluttered and it is challenging to find a good placement for the copy.
Working with our photographer, I art directed the shots to have more open spaces next to the students for copy and branding. With the use of a longer lens, the photographer used depth of field to blur the background to show the college campus but with less detail making the photo less cluttered. The result was a selection of images that displayed the college campus and could easily accommodate copy and branding.
